10 On Tues: Tie Dye Fun at School

All of the 3rd grade classes at Fiona’s school got to tie-dye t-shirts today. They will wear them when they go on their class field trip. It was a lot of fun getting to help all the kids out with their project. I can’t believe this is the last week of school. This year flew by fast! By the end of the week we will have a fourth-grader and a second-grader in our home. I have mapped out all of our activities for the summer. We will continue some schooling at home to keep the momentum going. We are also looking forward to our family vacation.

It took me 3,430 steps to cut the grass and I did it all before coffee. Go Me!!!

I Can See Clearly Now

Jesus was bold.

Jesus leads us to remove in order to add things that are far greater.

God removes relationships so we can have something better.

Sometimes we need to remove so we can add.

Satan seeks to destroy our hearts.

We can be bold because Jesus was bold.

Connect more with God.

Authentic Connections!!

When we seek God wholeheartedly He shows up!

Amen. Amen. Hallelujah Amen.

Today's Passage: John 2:12-24

Is there anything in your life that is keeping you from God's best?

My Kids LOVE their Ray Ban Glasses

Eye glasses were ready to be picked up yesterday. It was pretty incredible to see their reaction when they first put them on. Fiona kept saying, “WOW! What a BIG difference!” Kinsley said before she had glasses the leaves on the trees looked like tiny specks. When she put her glasses on it was amazing to be able to see the leaves. The clouds seemed fluffier to her as well. They were oohing and aahing at everything.

Marriage Moment: Songs that Remind Me of Us

Our twelve year wedding anniversary is coming up and I can't help but think of all the songs that remind me of Don. I am so grateful to God for giving me Don and making me his wife. He's my best friend. I cannot imagine my life without him. He keeps me grounded. He's the healthiest relationship I've ever had and the best father to our girls. I can remember when Lauren was about seven years old she used to pray to God to make Don her Dad. I pray that we grow old together. I LOVE him.

Here are some of the songs that remind me of us:

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true... I was made for you ♥

Great Job!

Guess Who Needs Glasses?

I Love You So So So So Much

This is part of a two page letter Lauren wrote me for Mother's Day.

Her "I love you so so so so so much" reminds me of when I was little and used to tell people I loved them very very very very very much.

Lauren will always be the first one and I cannot imagine for a single second my life without her. My very first Mother's Day was with Lauren. I was about four months pregnant and felt her kick for the very first time inside of me. I will never forget that day as long as I live.

I think about you all the time Ree. I Love you so so so so so much!! XXOO

Mother's Day Tooth Fairy Box

Kinsley brought this home from school yesterday and gave it to me. It was wrapped in bright pink tissue paper tied with some purple yarn.

Today she informed me it wasn't really for me. She had intended it to be her tooth fairy box in case she loses more teeth. But, then she quickly changed her mind announcing I could have it for Mother's Day since I thought it was so beautiful.

My sweet Miss Kinsley!! lol :)

She always makes me smile with her super cool ideas and her quick thinking on the fly.

Love, Love, Love her. XXOO

I Love You and Happy Mother's Day

Fiona made this for me for Mother's Day. She made the flowers by dipping a roll of toilet paper in paint and then using it as a paint stamp. I thought that was very creative and it turned out so pretty.

Fiona, YOU'RE the best in a million-bazillion-gazillion ways!! XXOO

PS I Love You, too!! :)

End of School Year Fun

School Carnival Fun

My sister-in-law and I were discussing how much our kids look alike. They really do! Every time I look at Kinsley and see the freckles across her nose I see my nephew Jackson. Kim was saying that she thinks Fiona looks like Cecilia. She does! They have a similar smile and familiar qualities in their personalities that shine the most. Do they look exactly alike? Of course not, but there are so many characteristics that are similar you'd think they were all siblings. Aren't they though? Cousins really are like brother's and sisters.

Kim and I went to Cecilia's school this week to eat lunch with her. She's in the 5th grade about to enter into middle school and I really wanted to have lunch with her before she gets to that stage where she doesn't want us to be around her in public. lol Anyway, while we were there her friends really cracked me up. They thought I was Cecilia's Mom. Later on that day when I told Fiona about it she laughed and said Aunt Kim doesn't have orange hair! lol Orange? Really? Kids are too funny for words.

I really enjoyed my lunch with my sister and my niece. It warmed my heart when my nephew Jack saw me in the lunch room and ran over to give me a hug. He was excited to see us! It was a great day.

Hoola Hoopin' It Up

The month of May at school for the girls is probably my favorite time of the year for them. We have a lot of fun activities and field trips that go on around this time. From the All School BBQ, to the Carnival, Field Day, and lots of fun field trips to cool places or having lunch outside with classmates in the beautiful spring weather. Yes, spring finally did make it to Nebraska and we are enjoying every bit of it at home and at school.

Over the summer we will continue with sports, outings, swim lessons, swimming fun, reading, math, day trips, and our big family vacation. Before we realize it summer will be over and it will be time to go back to school again. Next year we'll have a 4th grader and a 2nd grader. I can't wait to see what opportunities Fiona will choose as this will be her last year at her elementary school. The possibilities are endless.

One thing is for sure...she loves to speak, present to an audience, and write. She's been nominated several times this year for her creative writing pieces, won a creative writing award, and now I get to see her read the latest at a creative writing tea where the kids will present what they wrote to a room full of parents. Yes, they get up there with their writing and speak on a microphone to a room full of parents. That's intimidating! But you know what? She is doing it! She is conquering her nervousness and presenting to a room full of strangers. I LOVE it!

I asked Fiona what her favorite game was at the school carnival. She said she really enjoyed playing to win posters for her room. I asked Kinsley what her favorite carnival activity was and she told me she really enjoyed the bouncy house.

AWANA Awards Ceremony

We finished up AWANA this year and the kids were presented with their awards.

Fiona worked hard in her first year of TNT (Truth 'n Training). She completed her first book as well as all of her Silver and Gold assignments. She had her heart set on receiving the extra Silver and Gold pins in addition to the regular Alpha and Omega Awards. It was neat to watch Fiona work on something that she wanted and to see her work on it all the way through to the end. Way to go Fiona!

Kinsley worked hard in her 2nd year of Sparks. She completed her first grade book and when she found out we weren't going to be participating in the AWANA program next year, she got permission to work on her second grade book, too. She had her first grade book completed by Christmas and her second grade book completed by the conclusion of this year’s programming. She wanted to have that Sparky plaque just like her big sister Fiona. Who could blame her? Way to go Kinsley!

Why do they have to grow up? (2009)

My Mother In Law and I

Whenever I go to the hospital for my yearly exams my Mother-In-Law and I have lunch together. She works at the hospital so that makes it pretty convenient for us to get together for an hour or so. The nurses always offer to page her for me and they always tell her that her daughter is there looking for her. I don't bother to correct them and she doesn't either. I love my Mother-In-Law. The nice part is I'm pretty sure she loves me, too.

Letter from My Medical Doctor

Dear Mrs. I Am Pooped,

Your recent breast imaging procedure performed on 04/23/2013 showed an area that we believe is benign (not cancer). However, in six months, you should have a follow-up mammogram to confirm that this area has not changed.

As you know, early detection of cancer is very important. Although mammography is the most accurate method for early detection, not all cancers are found through mammography. A thorough examination includes a combination of mammography, physical examination and breast self-examination. Therefore, if you have not had a recent physical examination of your breasts by your clinician, see your physician or other health care provider.

A copy of your result was sent to your OBGYN.

Your report will become part of your medical file here at the Hospital for at least 5 years. You are responsible for informing any new health care provider or mammography facility of the date and location of this examination.

Mayday! Mayday! We Got Snow!

Kinsley's little snowman she built while her Daddy was shoveling the driveway before heading off to school.

A friend of mine says this little birdie is praying. I think she's right!

At least the rabbits are having fun!
