Season 4 Episode 2: Deception

My sister turned me on to Radiolab this week. For those of you who are not familiar with Radiolab, it's a radio show featured on NPR. She listened to one in particular this week called: DECEPTION.

This episode does not mention Sociopathy; however, it does zoom in on lies, liars, and lie catchers. I think you will LOVE it. It's very educational and mind-boggling. They make it very interesting to listen to. In face, you might be on the edge of your seat when you hear the different scenarios.

I had such a positive experience with this particular program that I decided to subscribe to the Radiolab podcast. Now whenever my iPod syncs I will get the latest programming and can listen while I'm cleaning house or exercising on my treadmill.

If you decide to listen to DECEPTION please leave a comment!

  1. The prospect of listening to this show frightens me. I'm so wary of people right now that listening to this might just unravel me. I will eventually, though.

Radiolab is great, though. I've listened to their programs before. There's this other thing called "the moth" w/great storytelling; look it up. I think the program would resonate w/you. Rach

  2. I'll eventually listen to it, that's what I meant. Sorry about back to back postings.

  3. Is "the moth" through NPR programming? I love stories; so, I will definitely check that out. I don't mind back-to-back postings.

  4. You know, I'm not sure whether if the moth is linked to npr or not (themoth.org)

Also: look up "The Story" on American Public Media; another treasure trove of stories about this strange, amazing thing called life. The interviewer, Dick Gordon, is just terrific. These are two of my favorite episodes:

    a) This one is really, really difficult to listen to, seriously, but very powerful (leave for a time when you can have a little solitude to take it all in)

    b) The crawl space story is just eery, but it is interesting, well told and even funny:

  5. You are the 2nd person who has recommended "The Moth" to me. Yesterday my sister sent me a text message as I was leaving to come home from bible study. I was able to catch two stories on "The Moth" programming. They were so good, very funny, and even inspirational. I had an enjoyable ride home.

This morning I found “The Story” and subscribed. I will be sure to listen to it while I’m picking up around the house today. I do my best housework quickly when I’m multitasking; so, it will be a breeze for me.

I’m trying to find the two that you have recommended. If I can’t find them I will listen to them on my computer later on this week when the house is winding down. I found out yesterday that NBC’s “SMASH” is back and I was mortified to learn that I had already missed two episodes; so, I’ll be catching up on the ones I missed in addition to checking out your suggestions.

I love my down time at night. Thanks for sharing with me Rach!
