We had a blast dressing up for Fiona and Kinsley's Halloween parties at school. Don found everything he needed for his costume at Goodwill for six dollars. That's not too shabby! The kids loved it, too. I was your standard Halloween witch. This year I borrowed Don's gown from his college graduation ceremony from 2009. I think it serves it's purpose now that we don't need it for school any more.
Kinsley was a Lady Bug Princess and Fiona was a Witch. Here are a couple of snapshots of them walking in their Halloween Parade at school. Fiona is carrying her Witch Hat because it was a little windy out there. The kiddos look forward to this parade and all the classroom parties every year. I think they will cherish these happy times for years to come.
Don getting in on the fun with the school faculty. In this picture he is posting with the school's mascot. I'm not 100% sure if that's the Principal or Mr. T.
There's Fiona with her Witch hat and another of her concentrating on a game of Hot Potato. That game of Hot Potato made me remember when I used to volunteer in Lauren's elementary classroom for Halloween. I can remember playing Hot Potato at my own Halloween Party at school when I was a kid. Fun, Fun times!
There is Kinsley in her classroom having fun with her Dad. It was cute because whenever she would talk about him to her friends or talk to him in front of her friends she addressed him as "Da-Da." I wonder how long she will call him that. It sure is cute and she doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all.
We posed for some family shots on the porch steps. Did you notice that my front door is red? The exact paint color is "Bijou Red" and it's a Behr Premium Plus paint. I Love it! Next year we will replace the glass outer door with one that has white trim to match the white trim on the house. We will also knock out the rotted step rails and put something newer in there. The new rails will probably be white to match the white trim, too. I love the front door being red as it looks really pretty and pops from the street. The garage door finally matches the new siding on the house. It is all coming together quite nicely.
Don took the kids trick-or-treating with the neighbor boy's Dad. I stayed home and passed out candy. I had a hard time keeping my hands off all the chocolate. YUM!! We had all of our favorites: Reese's, Almond Joy, Hershey's, Kit Kat...YUM!! And now it's time to put all the Halloween stuff away and get ready for more Birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!! I LOVE this time of the year!
