Royal Wedding Watchers

The kids went to bed early last night. I thought I would too but then the excitement started to set in. I set my alarm for 3 am and by the time midnight rolled around I forced myself to sleep.

The Royal Wedding

The alarm went off at 3 am without any problems. Miss Kinsley woke up all by herself and said, "Mom...I can't wait to see what dress she chose." Then she ran off to wake up her sister.

Westminster Abbey is Beautiful!!!

As we were watching all the guests arrive at the church Fiona saw Sir Elton John and decided that she liked his purple tie. Kinsley was fascinated with all the hats.

Miss Kinsley decided to sit next to Princess Fiona for all the Royal Wedding festivities. They could not wait to see the bride. It’s all about the Bride and Groom, Princes and Princesses, Kings and Queens.

They were genuinely thrilled for the happy couple and I couldn’t help but think about my own wedding to my Prince.

Royal Wedding Moments

The Wedding Message was AWESOME!! Did you get to hear it? It was beautiful. I couldn’t help but think that most of the world was watching and maybe the prayer and the sermon would touch someone out there. Why not?

The Royal Wedding

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Diana, Princess of Wales
Charles, Prince of Wales

I took that picture in Kansas City back in March when the Princess Diana exhibit came to town. I didn’t get to see the presentation but did enjoy snapping a few shots of her banner.

William & Kate's Engagement Photo. Good Job.

Cute Couple.

In six hours I will be waking up at three o’clock in the morning to watch all of the Royal Pomp and Circumstance. No one does a lavish wedding better than the British Monarchy. It’s going to be beautiful and I’m hoping they have lots of sunshine and absolutely no rain.

I can remember what color my PJ’s were when I was up early in the morning back in 1981 watching Charles and Diana’s wedding. I remember thinking as a little girl what a wonderful fairy tale. I thought Diana was breathtakingly beautiful, loved her gorgeous dress, and her sparkling tiara. Yes, I’ve followed the Royal Family’s story for quite some time now.

I’m pretty sure I watched the Lifetime movie at least three times and every Royal Family documentary shown on TLC twice. I remember feeling pretty tickled when William and Kate announced their engagement. I remember thinking how nice to see the two of them so happy to be together. They may actually love each other.

What else can I say about this? I’m a Llewellyn. My ancestors are from Wales. My Aunt, who happens to be a member of the Mayflower Society, has been diligent about making sure I know where my Dad’s side of the family comes from. I still have the postcard she sent me from Wales when I was a little girl. I can see it etched in my mind’s memory. I have it around here somewhere. One day I will find it, scan it and share it with you.

Llewellyn was my maiden name but when I married the first time I lost it. When I married the second time I decided that since I didn’t have a middle name I would take my maiden name and make it my middle name. Pretty cool, eh? I think so.

Earlier tonight Kinsley said about Kate Middleton, “Ohhh she’s beautiful. Mom…she dresses nice. I LOVE her hat!” My girls are all about the Princesses so this will be a treat for them. They are already in bed with anticipation of waking up so they can watch the wedding with their Mom. I think it’s sweet.

I better hit the sack. I’ll be getting up in five hours and forty-five minutes to watch ALL of it LIVE. There will be no TIVO or DVR for me.

In 1981 I was eleven years old and my PJ's were yellow.

I was made for you

THAT'S MY KING !! !! !!

The Bible says my King is the King of the Jews. He's the King of Israel. He's the King of righteousness. He's the King of the ages. He's the King of Heaven. He's the King of glory. He's the King of kings, and He's the Lord of lords. That's my King. I wonder...Do you know Him?

My King is a sovereign King. No means of measure can define his limitless love. He's enduringly strong. He's entirely sincere. He's eternally steadfast. He's immortally graceful. He's imperially powerful. He's impartially merciful. Do you know Him?

He's the greatest phenomenon that has ever crossed the horizon of this world. He's God's Son. He's the sinner's Savior. He's the centrepiece of civilization. He's unparalleled. He's unprecedented. He is the loftiest idea in literature. He's the highest personality in philosophy. He's the fundamental doctrine of true theology. He's the only one qualified to be an all-sufficient Savior. I wonder if you know Him today.

He supplies strength for the weak. He's available for the tempted and the tried. He sympathizes and He saves. He strengthens and sustains. He guards and He guides. He heals the sick. He cleanses the lepers. He forgives sinners. He discharges debtors. He delivers the captives. He defends the feeble. He blesses the young. He serves the unfortunate. He regards the aged. He rewards the diligent, and He beautifies the meager. I wonder if you know Him.

He's the key to knowledge. He's the wellspring of wisdom. He's the doorway of deliverance. He's the pathway of peace. He's the roadway of righteousness. He's the highway of holiness. He's the gateway of glory. Do you know Him?

Well...His light is matchless. His goodness is limitless. His mercy is everlasting. His love never changes. His word is enough. His grace is sufficient. His reign is righteous, and His yoke is easy and His burden is light. I wish I could describe Him to you. Yes, He's indescribable. He's incomprehensible. He's invincible. He's irresistible. You can't get Him out of your mind. You can't get Him off of your head. You can't outlive Him, and you can't live without Him.

Well...the Pharisees couldn't stand Him, but they found out they couldn't stop Him. Pilate couldn't find any fault in Him. Herod couldn't kill Him. Death couldn't handle Him, and the grave couldn't hold Him.

THAT'S MY KING !! !! !!

Dear Tooth Fairy

Fiona could have cared less about the cash. That’s my girl! When I asked her about that she said being able to keep her tooth so she could show her family was more important than the money.

The Tooth Fairy was so touched by Fiona’s note that she let Fiona keep her tooth and presented her with a five dollar bill and a pack of star burst candy. Fiona is one of the sweetest most generous kids I know. She deserves the whole kit and caboodle.

Reclaiming Wasted Years

So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.

Talk is Cheap

Fundamental Oneness or Unity

Jesus Prays for All Believers

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Husker Hammer: Husker Siding, Windows and Roofing

This is the company we used to replace all our old windows with brand new Milgard windows. They did a great job too!! I Love my NEW windows!!

This is the same company that is taking care of all that beautiful new siding going up all over our house. Stay tuned because I’ll be posting updates as the project continues. See my “Home Sweet Home” label.

It's Coming Along Nicely

Lots of materials stored on our driveway. That’s okay. It’s worth the wait until we get to the finished result. In the meantime Don parks his truck on the street. No biggie.

You can see the old siding and the new siding. I’m excited. The trim will be white. John got a lot done yesterday. I think he’s doing a great job because it looks great!! If you ask me it looks like our house is going to look crisp and clean.

Here’s a closer look at the siding on the garage side of the house. Today it’s raining outside so not too much was completed but that’s okay because we are not in any rush to get it done too fast. We are excited!!

Your Choices and My Choices

I've been blaming you for a lot of the anger and pain I feel, but it's not your fault how I choose to feel. My choices are my responsibility just as your choices are your responsibility. The anger and animosity run deep. However, the season of change is now upon us.

True Repentance

Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

Matthew 3:8

True repentance is much more than saying "I'm sorry"; it is changing direction.

Forgiveness and Reconciliation

Many people have a problem determining the difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. They fail to deal with external resistance because they feel that they have to give in to the other person again and again or they are not being forgiving. In fact, many people are afraid to forgive [or ask forgiveness] because they equate that with letting down their boundaries one more time and giving the other person the power to hurt them again.

The Bible is clear about two principles: (1) We always need to forgive, but (2) we don't always achieve reconciliation. Forgiveness is something that we do in our hearts; we release someone from a debt that they owe us. We write off the person's debt, and she no longer owes us. We no longer condemn her. She is clean. Only one party is needed for forgiveness: me. The person who owes me a debt does not have to ask my forgiveness. It is a work of grace in my heart.

This brings us to the second principle: we do not always receive reconciliation. God forgave the world, but the whole world is not reconciled to him. Although he may have forgiven all people, all people have not owned THEIR SIN and appropriated his forgiveness. That would be reconciliation. Forgiveness takes one; reconciliation takes TWO.

We do not open ourselves up to the other party until we have seen that she has truly owned HER PART of the problem. So many times Scripture talks about keeping boundaries with someone until she owns what she has done and produces "fruit in keeping with repentance" (Matt. 3:8). True repentance is much more than saying "I'm sorry"; it is changing direction.

Let the Siding Project Begin!

See that rotted railing? It’s going buh bye!!

Materials came on time and the siding project has begun.

The color is Cypress.

Remember we had new Milgard Windows installed, right? Well…now that the new siding is going up we’re going to get brand new white trim around the windows on the front of the house. I’m excited!!

This is a close-up shot of the side of the house on the garage cornered with the back of the house. You can see the “old” versus the “new.”

This is my kitchen window looking out towards the back of the house. We decided not to trim out the windows facing the backyard because it’s not necessary.

Remember the French Door I was telling you about? Well, these are the steps that come down off the back of the house. They came with the house when we bought the house. They are old, rickety and uneven. They are going buh bye!!

I’m so excited about these windows on the back of the house. They are brand new and I can open ALL of them! I couldn’t open them all before because the end windows were crank-outs and the two windows in the middle would not open up at all. Like I said…I Love my New Milgard Windows!! They can slide open from the top down, the bottom up, or both. I can also clean the outside of my windows from the inside of my house. Love That!!

There’s the man of the hour!! The best dang husband and father that ever walked the face of the planet. My dragon slayer and knight in shining armor!! Whoop!!

Hi Don!! Love You!! xoxo!!

Here’s the official before picture. It will be interesting to see what the after picture will look like. That’s the front of our house. Not shown is the garage. But that’s okay. This is just to give you an idea of what the transformation entails.

It feels like I’m getting a brand new house people!! I’m so excited!!

So basically my monthly bill only went up $10.00 more per month and we have unlimited everything except for the 700 minutes that we share between the two of us that we never go over because most everyone we know either has Verizon or we talk on the phone after 9:00 pm anyway. Love that!!

Reconciliation

Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Romans 5:11 NIV

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Colossians 1:19-20 NIV
