Let the Siding Project Begin!

See that rotted railing? It’s going buh bye!!

Materials came on time and the siding project has begun.

The color is Cypress.

Remember we had new Milgard Windows installed, right? Well…now that the new siding is going up we’re going to get brand new white trim around the windows on the front of the house. I’m excited!!

This is a close-up shot of the side of the house on the garage cornered with the back of the house. You can see the “old” versus the “new.”

This is my kitchen window looking out towards the back of the house. We decided not to trim out the windows facing the backyard because it’s not necessary.

Remember the French Door I was telling you about? Well, these are the steps that come down off the back of the house. They came with the house when we bought the house. They are old, rickety and uneven. They are going buh bye!!

I’m so excited about these windows on the back of the house. They are brand new and I can open ALL of them! I couldn’t open them all before because the end windows were crank-outs and the two windows in the middle would not open up at all. Like I said…I Love my New Milgard Windows!! They can slide open from the top down, the bottom up, or both. I can also clean the outside of my windows from the inside of my house. Love That!!

There’s the man of the hour!! The best dang husband and father that ever walked the face of the planet. My dragon slayer and knight in shining armor!! Whoop!!

Hi Don!! Love You!! xoxo!!

Here’s the official before picture. It will be interesting to see what the after picture will look like. That’s the front of our house. Not shown is the garage. But that’s okay. This is just to give you an idea of what the transformation entails.

It feels like I’m getting a brand new house people!! I’m so excited!!

  1. Wow. Huge project to take on. I'm excited for you!!!

  2. Love the new color! Can't wait to see pics of the finished project.

  3. So Jealous! I have wanted to paint or re-side our house since the day I moved in. Maybe this year??? We are determined to do it ourselves so all we need are the time and money come together. Usually we have one or the other ;)

  4. When it’s all said and done we’ll be paying on this big project for awhile. It all started a few years ago when we had that storm hit. First we sunk cash into a new roof. Then we sunk cash into a new sump system with a battery backup so when the electricity goes out the battery kicks in and our basement doesn’t flood. Then we sunk cash into water guarding the entire perimeter of the basement. We knew the siding would come next and that all the windows would need replacing at the same time. Slowly but sure it’s all coming together. All I got to say is thank God for home equity lines!! I think it’s going to be fun to update you guys with all our projects as they are happening.

Thanks for the comment
